It's the most wonderful time of the year! This melody has been playing in my head on repeat pretty much since the day after Thanksgiving. My obsession with this time of year is getting border-line ridiculous, but I am okay with that. I just wish we could extend Christmas for longer than one month.

The holidays are filled with get togethers and holiday parties, and what better way to break the ice than with a spiked hot cocoa bar! This can be adult and kid friendly (just don't add baileys and schnapps to the kiddos version). It is so easy to recreate and you can add your own spin on it!

I start off my making a big batch of hot cocoa in the crockpot. I like to use the Ghiradelli cocoa and a large ladling spoon to serve the drinks.  To make everything more fun, I heated up some semi sweet chocolate chips in a double broiler and dipped the mugs in the melted chocolate, followed by colored sprinkles! This adds a pop of color and makes the rim extra delicious when you are sipping the cocoa.

SPIKE it up! If your having an adult only party, you can add the booze right into the crockpot. I like to mix in Baileys and Peppermint Schnapps. This makes it creamy, minty, and extra delicious!

Next step- toppings! When your guests arrive, pour them a cup of hot cocoa and let them add their own toppings. I put the toppings in mason jars because it's easy and I always have a ton in my cupboard. There are no limits on what toppings to add. Some crowd pleasers include mini marshmallows, candy canes, sprinkles, and whip cream. YUM!

There you have it folks, an easy hot cocoa bar to spice up any holiday party. Cheers!
