EXCURSION VEST: J.Crew | CHAMBRAY TOP: J.Crew | SKIRT: J.Crew | SHOES: Tory Burch (30% off) | NECKLACE: Francescas (old) similar here | RING: Anna Beck | PURSE: Kate Spade (old) similar here

TGIF! Anyone have any fun weekend plans?  I'm writing this post from Carmel and plan to be here for the entire weekend. I decided to pack up and go visit my dad for a few days. I'm lucky to live close enough to do this on a whim. It's so nice to get away from the city and escape the chaos. I fell asleep last night to the sounds of the crickets and it was so refreshing. Pure bliss if you ask me. My biggest decision of the weekend will be deciding what type of bagel to get at the Bagel Bakery.

This post is inspired by the changing of the seasons. I can't wait any longer to hold off on wearing this vest, so I decided to pair it with a skirt and flats. The herringbone vest will go QUICK, especially since it is 30% off right now. Having said that, I wouldn't wait to buy. If you like it, just get it before it's too late! They run big, I'm wearing the XS and wish I ordered an XXS. I love this vest with a red flannel and dark skinnies. It also looks great with a striped long sleeve shirt and a statement necklace. To be honest, there will probably be quite a few more outfits on the blog revolved around this baby.

MARBLE CUTTING BOARD: Fox Run | MASON JAR: Ball | GLASS BOWL: Crate & Barrel | CHIA SEEDS: Nutiva | OATS: Quaker |

Hey Dolls!

Today I want to talk about the most important meal of the day, breakfast. I am constantly trying to find breakfasts that will provide fuel without weighing me down, and this is the WINNER. I had broken up with the traditional hot oatmeal, mainly because I had eaten it every morning when I was younger for about an eternity. So now that I have discovered this little number, I'm proud to say that I am introducing oats back into my life. Consider this the sexier version of oatmeal.  I'm excited to share my go-to breakfast meal that is quick, nutritious and quite tasty- Blueberry & Peach Overnight Oats.

Before I get started, I think it is very important to understand the nutritional breakdown of what we put in our bodies. After all, it is our only one, so you should treat it right! So here are the fun facts about the ingredients you are adding to your lovely overnight oat concoction.

CHIA SEEDS: Despite their tiny size, chia seeds are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. They are loaded with fiber, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients.

OATMEAL:  A whole grain powerhouse that packs plenty of value for our health. Benefits include: boosts energy, protects skin, supports weight loss, prevents diabetes, boosts heart health, and reduces colon cancer.

ALMOND MILK: Although almond milk doesn't offer as much protein as milk, there are still many great benefits such as: improvements of vision, weight loss, stronger bones, marinating blood pressure and a healthy heart.

BLUEBERRIES: Are among the most nutrient dense berries. A 1 cup serving of blueberries contains: 4 grams of fiber, 24% of RDA of Vitamin C, 36% of the RDA of Vitamin K, and 25% of the RDA of Manganese!

I layered everything so that it looked pretty for the pictures, but really you should follow these steps in order for your oats and chia seeds to reach the right consistency the next morning.

  1. Pour 2 tbsp of chia seeds into mason jar
  2. Pour 1/3 cup of oatmeal into mason jar
  3. Add 1 1/2 cups of almond milk
  4. Stir in the oats and chia seeds with the almond milk so that everything is incorporated
  5. Add 3/4 cup blueberries
  6. Add 1/2 peach (diced)
  7. Screw lid on mason jar and place in fridge overnight
  8. Enjoy!

TANK: PPLA (purchased at Prim Boutique in Los Gatos) | DENIM: 7 for all mankind | HAT: Gypsy Warrior | SUNNIES: Karen Walker | SHOES: Dolce Vita | NECKLACE: Bought at Kai Bella Boutique in Carmel | RING: Anna Beck | BRALETTE: Brandy Melville | LIPS: Mac (Snob)

Give me a screen print tee and some high waisted denim shorts and I'm good for any Saturday afternoon activity. I love these shorts in particular because they are so comfy. They run big though, so purchase a size down. I am a big fan of supporting local boutiques and that is where I purchased my necklace and shirt. If you are ever in Carmel, make sure to check out Kai Bella! The entire shop has a boho surf vibe and it's hard to leave empty handed.

I wore this outfit to date night at one of our favorite sushi places, Cha Cha Sushi. If you live in the bay area, or are just stopping through, this should definitely be on your food check list. The prices are good, food is fresh, and the staff is so sweet. Two thumbs up!

Happy Monday. xx

YOGA PANTS: Lululemon | RAINBOOTS: Hunter | BLANKET SCARF: Etsy | Excursion Vests: J.Crew | CANDLES: Bath & Body Works

To all my fellow basic fall betches--

I believe it is time to OFFICIALLY begin our countdown to our favorite season! I mean how can you not be excited for the crisp fall air, the changing of the leaves, and the release of ALL things pumpkin spice. And I know you are oh so thrilled for all the photo ops to come! Starbucks selfie with a bold red lip, the quintessential leaves pic with your boots and leggings on, and you can't forget the pumpkin patch photo with you and bae holding matching pumpkins.. am I right? CLASSIC.

If you haven't already heard, the release date of the PSL has been delayed to Sept 8th this year. WHAT, BUT WHY??? Starbucks is switching the recipe of their famous drink to include REAL pumpkin and no fake caramel coloring. How did this come about you ask? The well-known blogger Food Babe created a blog post sharing what is really in our beloved PSL's and it wasn't pretty. She flagged that Starbucks was using ingredients that have carcinogens, which can increase the risk of developing lung cancer and leukemia. As for the pumpkin flavoring sauce -->it had zero actual pumpkin in it, 50 grams of sugar, and monsanto milk (milk that comes from cows that are fed genetically modified feed). Good news is Starbucks has officially announced the release of their new and improved drink. Are you worried it won't taste the same? A lot of people are... Guess we will have to wait till next month to find out!

Dreaming of pumpkins now? I can't confirm or deny that as soon as Trader Joe's stocks their shelves with all things pumpkin flavored I am the first one at the door. Okay, I guess I just confirmed that, oops. Anyways, if you are looking for the perfect snack you HAVE to try the pumpkin cream cheese spread on top of their cinnamon graham crackers. It is life changing. Reminds me of having cheesecake, but with WAY less calories. My other fave item they only have during the fall is the pumpkin bread mix. My sister turned me onto it, so every time I buy it I think of her and my niece which makes me smile. :) Make sure to add chocolate chips to the mix and butter on top when it comes out of the oven. YUM.

Now fall isn't just about the food. It also gives us all an excuse to lounge around the house in oversized sweaters, light candles that smell like you can literally eat the air, and decorate your entire house with gold leaves and pumpkins (sorry boyfriends and husbands). Add in a good movie and some crafts and you might just have created the perfect day. Oh wait, champagne would make it even better.

Dreaming of the season change. zzzz

BLAZER: Banana Republic | CAMI: Express (comes in 10 colors) | JEANS: AG | PUMPS: Charles David | PHONE CASE: Kate Spade | NECKLACE: J.Crew Factory (only $20!) LIPS: Mac "Ruby Woo"

How is it Monday already?? I hope everyone had an eventful weekend. It was hot and smokey here because of all the surrounding fires. Highlights of my weekend included: getting my hair chopped, lounging at my friends pool all day Saturday (pure bliss) and doing adult things Sunday aka buying furniture.... YAY!

I took these photos before getting my hair cut, but had to share because I wear this outfit to work quite often. I love when you can pair some tight skinnies with a fancy blazer. They really compliment each other well and can work for any casual Friday at the office. I've had that necklace I'm wearing in the photo for awhile and was surprised to see that it is still in stock. It is my go-to statement necklace and I highly recommend snatching it for $20.00 before it's gone forever!

May your coffee be STRONG and your Monday be SHORT. <3

1. SHOES: Dolce Vita | 2. CROSSBODY: Rebecca Minkoff | 3. NAIL POLISH: OPI (That's Hula-rious!) | 4. RING: Kendra Scott | 5. RING: Valou | 6. LIPSTICK: Mac (Cherish) | 7. PERFUME: Kate Spade "Walk on Air" | 8. FLATS: Sole Society "Gemma" (ON SALE!)

Happy Friday beauties! Today I wanted to share some of my favorite summer staples! Everyone is so ready to jump seasons, but in California it is going to be sunny and 75 for at least another month. So don't get too eager to jump ship, because you know all you basic fall bitches will be missing that warm sunshine and bright colors in no time.

BEAUTY: Every summer has a story, and it should have an equally great scent too! Picture it. > Twenty years from now, you pick up your Kate Spade perfume, give it a sniff and it takes you right back to 2015 on the beach in Mexico. Am I right?? Our noses can have aversions, which are basically memories in relation to smell or taste. The moral of my story is that I think every woman should have a summer scent that will take them back to those perfect moments frozen in time. This perfume will never disappoint with it's aromas of linden blossom, jasmine and gardenia. SWOON!

When OPI introduced their Hawaii Collection of colors, I jumped for joy (well not actually, that would be embarrassing). But in all seriousness, the 12 colors that are included in this line are so perfect for summer! My favorites include "That's Hula-rious", "Lost My Bikini in Molokini", and "Do You Take Lei Away". If you're not already sold on these colors, the names will definitely seal the deal.

Since we are all secretly obsessed with Kylie Jenner, I wanted to discuss her lipstick choices. Now that the cat's out of the bag, we all know it wasn't just good lipliner tricks that brought her the famous pouty lip... But, I have good news! You can achieve a "similar" looks with the right liner and lipstick. Kylie loves her neutral colors lined with a darker pink liner AKA WHIRL. See my 5 steps to Kylie below--

  1. Carefully over line your upper and lower lip with Mac's famous "Whirl" liner. Make sure to start your liner around where your actual outer lip ends.
  2. Then repeat drawing the line right above that until you get the fullness you are looking for.
  3. Once you have finished lining the outside, carefully draw in just the corners of your lip with the liner.
  4. Now comes the lipstick. Add Cherish  or Brave to the parts of your lip that you haven't added liner to.
  5. Finish the look off with a dab of "Prrr" lipglass right in the center of your lower lip. *Don't forget to smack your lips together to give your entire look an icy shimmer.
SHOES: Who doesn't love a good razzle dazzle pair of shoes. Sole Society's "Gemma" flats have the perfect pop of bling, without being over the top. To make it even better, I linked a pair that are on sale for only $40!!

When Dolce Vita came out with their "Nakita" wedge, I think the world might have stopped (or the internet broke or something). Can we say perfection. I have them in black, which I think are just as great and can double for a night out on the town.

ACCESSORIES: If you can't tell, I'm loving the two finger rings right now. They are kind of amazing and this Valou one does not disappoint. My friend was wearing it one day, and I literally stopped her mid sentence to ask where she got her ring from. While I was linking the silver one, I also stumbled across this little turquoise number. I wish I had never seen it b/c it is WAY too cute not to buy.

Add a little boho glam in your life with the RM "Fringe Mini Mac" crossbody bag. I love the black version and the cognac color one the most. Decisions, decisions...

Let's face it, life is too short for bad coffee. For those of you that don't know, I am a shameless coffee addict. I just don't know what I would do without my perfect cup of joe in my daily routine. It is what I NEED on those groggy Monday mornings and what I look forward to on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Anyone who loves coffee as much as I do knows there are about a million and one ways to make a simple cup. Jason makes fun of me because I have a Nespresso, Keurig, AND a French Press. Basically he thinks I'm crazy, but they are all great for different reasons and French Press coffee has got to be my all time favorite. It can be a bit daunting though and if you make it wrong, you will be left VERY disappointed. Having said that, today I wanted to share the RIGHT way to use a French Press so that your coffee will turn out perfect every time.

Ingredients/Materials Needed:

STEP 1: Remove lid on French Press and add course ground good coffee. You will need 2 over filled tablespoons for every 8 ounces of water added. The standard French Press is 32 ounces, so in that case add about 6-7 tbs.

STEP 2: Boil water in a teakettle on the stove. Once the water begins to boil, remove it and test the temperature. The perfect temperature for the water should be around 200 degrees.

STEP 3: Add just enough water to cover the coffee grounds and let sit for 30 seconds

STEP 4: Add the rest of the water to the French Press (give it a quick stir to incorporate the grounds) and set your timer for 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

STEP 5: Once the timer goes off, it is time to push down the plunger of the coffee. This should go down rather easily; if it is really hard then you used the wrong type of coffee grounds. -__-

STEP 6: Pour all of the hot coffee into a coffee decanter. This will allow the coffee to keep its perfect taste without it getting bitter.

STEP 7: Pour into your favorite coffee mug with cream and sugar and ENJOY!
